I am a Nottingham based Therapist offering individual Gestalt Counselling and Psychotherapy. I can also offer an Educational Consultancy Service geared around process and relational work with school staff teams.
Background
I have a solid background in Education and Counselling. Having completed my initial degree in Philosophy and Mathematics at the University of Bristol (2001) I travelled to Nottingham in order to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and to teach. My teaching career has been in city secondary schools and I have been involved in pastoral, curriculum and governing leadership roles. I have always had a pastoral role and responsibility throughout my teaching career.
Experience
I initially trained as part of a volunteer telephone Counselling organisation and worked as the National Liaison Officer, Training officer and Chair of the National Conference in 2001. This led me to be responsible for policy and training of all new recruits (over two years) including supervision and the provision of ongoing training from a person-centred and integrative modality.
I have recently completed all requirements for a Master’s Degree in counselling studies (with Distinction) at the University of Nottingham and have spent two years in a city secondary school in Derby, in the first year counselling students. In the second year I consulted to the school as the Emotional Welfare Consultant facilitating Gestalt/Person-centred integrative therapy to staff and students and training for staff. |
